Our first collection, Still Life, draws inspiration from Sergei Parajanov's 1969 film The Colour of Pomegranates. The Armenian avant-garde film offers a visual interpretation of the life of 18th-century poet and musician Sayat-Nova, utilising symbolic imagery and stylised tableaux to convey his experiences in non-linear storytelling.

The film's deliberate pacing and emphasis on everyday objects, such as fruit, textiles, and religious artifacts, inform the aesthetic of our first Ritual Home collection. We've translated these elements into original hand-drawn prints featuring motifs; cut fruit, flowering stems, rendered in a palette of deep reds, lush purples, and soft greens.
As a film lover, I highly recommend spending the time digesting all the beautiful richness that is The Colour of Pomegranates. A full version of it with English subtitles is available on YouTube. This film is essential watching for those that appreciate experimental filmmaking and the visual arts.
